While this may be true in some cases, it's more there is a lack of national regulation rather than Chinese panels as a whole being worse than European or local products. The truth is, while many Australian’s have reported that their Chinese manufactured panels only lasted a couple of years before they lost their effectiveness, Chinese solar manufacturers don’t come under the same scrutiny as European brands. Meaning companies must self-regulate to a greater degree. Right now, China produces around 50% of the world’s solar panels and while some are subpar, others are competing to be the most efficient and best quality panels globally. As long as you buy through a trusted provider, and make sure you are purchasing only Tier 1 panels then there should be no issue.
